FAMILY RECOVERY- WEEK 5

Almost 5 weeks after hubby received a kidney from our daughter, we're getting a wee-bit better at riding the roller coaster ride that's their recovery!

Our daughter returned to her school secretary job this past week and the staff were so happy to have her back! It was an exhausting few days for her, but she was grateful to return mid-week, followed by a 3-day weekend and short next week, enabling her to ease back in. She still has a couple issues being watched by her doctor that we're praying resolve soon; thank you for your prayers for her!

Each 'up' week for hubby seems to be followed by a 'down' week... 🎢and since the previous week was up, you can guess what's coming!

Hubby had the worst lab results since his discharge, which brought some significant changes to his drug regimen (that caused a significant swing in side effects)... ugh!

BUT...all seems okay! His team of doctors are monitoring him, there's no sign of rejection and our wonderful nurse assured us this is all a NORMAL part of the recovery process. She even went so far as to say a smooth recovery is so rare, it's usually a much bigger cause for concern!

What a difference perspective makes to our sense of reality! By sharing this truth, she enabled us to look at what we were experiencing through the lens of truth, based on her many years experience... and it brought peace!
