TRANSPLANT STORY: Week 3
If you've been following our family story these past few weeks, you know our daughter donated a kidney to her dad (my hubby) almost three weeks ago...
which strangely feels like three months... so much has happened!
Our daughter had her follow-up this week and all is well! Except the "deformity" above her incision... surgeon's word! To which she quipped "Just what every girl wants to hear!" Let's just say his surgical skills were better than his relational ones🤣
Hubby's new kidney is not functioning as it should. The doctors have done a few tests but haven't found anything to explain it, so more invasive testing is next if things don't turn around by Monday🙃 Obviously, not the news we wanted, but we're trusting GOD to guide and provide!
Sometimes the journey is just as important, if not more so, than the end result. We are so very grateful to know God's love, mercy and grace will see us through- no matter what. A good sense of humor doesn't hurt, either!
If you are praying for us, thank you. Those two little words seem so small compared with the gratitude in our heart, but I say them none-the-less! We can't imagine walking this path without faithful friends and prayer warriors!
How I hope to have good news to share next week!
