TRANSPLANT STORY: Week 4!
It is so hard to believe my hubby and daughter's kidney transplant surgery was
almost 4 weeks ago. Time is such a strange thing! There were nights early on that felt like weeks, yet I'm in awe we're days from September! Can you relate?
Our daughter is excited to return to work soon. She still has a couple issues that we're praying will resolve on their own, but all things considered, she's doing well... as long as she doesn't over-do it. Patience doesn't come naturally to
her!
We got happy news at hubby's appointment last week: no biopsy needed! His kidney function is still not what it should be, but the downward trend was broken. There's still no explanation for it, so prayer for
that is greatly appreciated! Some of his drug dosages were reduced, so we're hopeful the side effects will follow. It was mostly a pretty good week... wooHOO!!!
I have to share with you what I call a hug from GOD. It's one of those spontaneous things that He drops in your lap to let you know He's there and watching out for you when you're not even aware of it.
We discovered this past week we were the last living-donor transplant surgery to happen before everything was shut down due to the latest wave of illness.
What's so special about this?
We were given two surgical dates to choose from- had we chosen the other (later) option in August, their surgery would've never happened! Back in late July when we chose the date 8 days away (picture the deer-in-the-headlights-look... that was us!), all was well.
Little did we know how much would change... but GOD did and He led us to the right choice!
Don't you just love getting hugs like that?!!
